Local GOP hosting Lincoln Day dinner

Carson City’s Republican Central Committee will hold a sesquicentennial celebration Lincoln Day Dinner fund raising event at Fuji Park Exhibit Hall on Jan. 31.

Guy Rocha, Nevada’s retired state archivist and a writer, is scheduled to speak on that last Friday evening of the month in the Fuji exhibit hall at 701 Old Clear Creek Road. Doors open for general admission participants at 5:30 p.m., but a VIP reception is set from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a $10 cover charge. General admission cost was set at $18.64 per person or $36 per couple. Children under free are admitted without charge.

Other activities during the evening are program during the dinner, an 1860 period dress contest, a live auction, a raffle drawing for a 55-inch smart television, a bucket raffle, and dancing after the meal. Music will be by Sierra Express.

The program and dinner are expected to begin at 6:30 p.m.
