August 24, 1931-January 4, 2014


Rena Unice Bell of Fallon, Nevada passed into the arms of her husband and parents in the early hours of January 4, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno. Rena died from complications of a stroke suffered on December 24th. Rena was born to immigrant parents Edward and Penelope Ventaracci on August 24th 1931. Rena married Ralph (Swede) Bell on January 27th, 1952. Swede and Rena had three boys, Larry, Wesley and Rusty. Rena was proud of her Italian heritage and carried on the traditions taught by her mother. A world traveler she most enjoyed her trips to Italy visiting with family in Fornovolasco. Prior to her physical decline Rena was an avid outdoors person and could be found fishing in her float tube, deer and antelope hunting, working trap lines with Swede, or working on her rose bushes in her beautiful yard. Rena was a member of the Cowbells, Lahonton Valley Rose Society and she and Swede belonged to the Mr. & Mrs. Club. She loved all animals especially her dachshunds. Rena is survived by her sons Larry Bell, Wesley Bell (Kim) and Rusty Bell. Grandchildren Tatum, Levi, Douglas, Katherine, Cassie Bell and Lacey Lehman. Great Grandchildren Austin Lindsey, Caleb Stoddard and Ayden Lehman. Her brother and sister in-law Edward and Gloria Venturacci and brother Louie Venturacci. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive her. Rena was preceded in death by her husband Swede and her sister and brother in-law Gussie and Lyle Westcott. Love and thanks to Rochanne Downs and Yvonne Mori who were always there for her. Services are entrusted to Smith’s Family Funeral Home in Fallon and will be held Saturday January 11th at 2:00 pm at Smiths.
