Birds of Chicago, a duo featuring JT Nero and Allison Russell, will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the CVIC Hall on Fifth and Esmeralda streets in Minden.
JT Nero, of the Chicago rock and soul band JT and the Clouds, lists Mark twain and Sam Cooke among his biggest influences. He and Allison Russell formed Birds of Chicago in 2012 and have since toured nonstop, according to a news release. Russell, of the Canadian urban folk band Po’ Girl, plays banjo, ukulele, guitar and clarinet.
