Douglas County received more than 71 applications for the county manager’s job, which are being reviewed for presentation to county commissioners on July 17.

Following the selection of top candidates, an interview panel including advisory members from the public will be part of the selection process.

Candidates will visit Douglas County on Aug. 4-5 for an extensive interview process. To ensure the candidates are thoroughly reviewed, the county’s human resources department has set forth a process to include advisory interview panels, a reception and a tour.

Douglas County is looking for those interested in participating in the advisory interview panel to provide input on the candidates.

“We are confident this selection process will help us determine the best candidate and fit for Douglas County,” said Human Resources Manager Norma Santoyo. “Allowing feedback from others in the community who feel strongly about the position will also give us a different perspective and give the candidate a good representation of our community.”

Anyone interested in being on an advisory interview panel should send their name and contact information to Douglas County Human Resources at wlang@co.douglas.nv.us or call 782-9860 no later than 5 p.m. July 16.

Depending on response, submissions may be placed in a random drawing to determine participants.
