Six charged with domestic violence during weekend

A total of six people were arrested by Carson City Sheriff’s deputies on domestic violence charges during the weekend.

In the most serious case, both parties were charged with battery with substantial bodily harm — a felony.

They are Rachel McQueary, 25, and Ernesto Rocha, 27, who, according to the arrest report, had an extended physical conflict at a residence of Bath Street Saturday morning. The report charges they started pushing and shoving, but the fight quickly escalated. He allegedly suffered a blow to the eye and numerous scratches on his face and a bite on his shoulder as well as choke marks on the neck. She also was allegedly choked by Rocha and suffered several other marks on her arms and chest.

The two were ordered held in lieu of $15,000 bail apiece.

The first of the incidents occurred Friday night at the Blue Bull when a 39-year-old Dayton man was charged with punching his female cousin in the mouth. Saturday night, deputies were called to a home on Concord Drive and arrested a 51-year-old woman was arrested on charges she assaulted her daughter.

A 70-year-old Carson City woman was charged with battering her husband at a home on West 3rd Street at about 1 a.m. Sunday. The victim said she was angry at him because he had recently filed for divorce.

The final incident on the list occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday when witnesses at Jimmy G’s said they saw a 25-year-old man assault a woman he had been arguing with, including pulling her hair.

All the misdemeanor domestic battery defendants were being held in lieu of $3,000 bail.
