Krista Jenkins and All Hat No Cattle will bring some original tunes to the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park 6 p.m. today.
Jenkins is a fourth-generation Nevadan and resident of Carson Valley who brings a love of living in ranch land to her original songs. Joining Jenkins, who plays guitar and sings, are John Margolin on mandolin and vocals, and Dale Poune on guitar, banjo, slide guitar and vocals. Together, they form All Hat No Cattle, performing Roots, Americana and Country music.
“Krista and her band have always been a favorite of Carson Valley audiences,” park curator Mark Jensen said. “They bring a special sound to Western music, and the park is the perfect setting to enjoy such talented musicians.”
The hour-long, outdoor performance begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and tickets are only available at the performance, while they last. Children 16 and younger enter free. The gate opens at 5 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Soft drinks and water will be available for purchase, or visitors can bring a picnic and their favorite beverage. Dogs are not permitted in the park.
The final act in the park’s Twilight Acoustic Series will be the Irish-Celtic music of Ciana on Aug. 28.
The park is located at 1450 Highway 88, about 1/4 mile north of the Carson Valley Animal Hospital.
