The Nevada Secretary of State’s office has expanded its electronic business license system to Fernley and Tonopah.

“The last thing a business needs is to be bogged down by paperwork,” said Secretary of State Ross Miller.

He said that’s why SilverFlume, Nevada’s Business Portal, was created.

He said it enables companies to complete required filings on line and receive their business license instantly.

He said he hopes other cities and local governments in the state will follow the example set by Fernley and Tonopah and join the system.

Fernley Mayor Leroy Goodman said Fernley is proud to be the first Nevada city to sign up.

“We encourage and support business in Fernley and this just makes it that much earlier for our entrepreneurs,” he said.
