On June 5, 2014, at the age of 79, “Marv” passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Carson City. In 1963 he accepted a sales opportunity with IBM and transferred to Carson City, where he excelled to a top sales executive. After 30 years, he retired from IBM. He went on to serve the community he loved so dearly as Mayor for 3 terms. He was preceded in death by his parents Noah & Mary, and sons Allen (Donna) & Bradley (Kristen). He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, sister Susan Swanson (Olympia, WA), son Matthew (Annette), stepson Robby, grandsons Kevin, Tony, Michael and Noah, granddaughter Alanna and two great-grandchildren. Marv’s love for his community was beyond compare. There will be a celebration of his life Friday, June 20th at 11:30AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. A reception will immediately follow at Eagle Valley Golf Course. Donations on Marv’s behalf can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada, Carson City, NV.
