FERNLEY — The Fallon boys golf team shot a 455 to take seventh at the Northern Division I-A’s first tournament of the season.

Junior Jeff Evett led the Greenwave with an 85 followed by fellow junior Corbin Waite, who carded an 89. Evett finished 20th and Waite 28th, while Lowry’s Ethan Gray and Josh Shaver earn top medalist honors with a 71.

Fallon’s Braxton Hunter followed Waite with a 92 to place 32nd. Behind Hunter were Raymond Plasse (93) in 34th, Austin Rush (96) in 38th, Charles Byers (97) in 39th.

Defending state champ Lowry won the event and was followed by Elko, Spring Creek, Fernley, South Tahoe, Truckee and Fallon. Dayton and Sparks placed eighth and ninth, respectively.
