A Carson City woman and a Reno man were arrested in the 100 block of Corbett Street on felony drug counts. According to their arrest reports:

A deputy with the Tri-County Gang Unit was searching for Rebecca Peltier, 31, of Carson City and visited her home. Her car was parked out front. Her apartment’s windows were covered with sheets, preventing the deputy from seeing inside.

The deputy heard Peltier and Jason Leon Baker, 42, talking in hushed voices inside. When Peltier discovered the deputy was outside, she repeated yelled, “Who’s outside?” Baker removed one of the sheets and saw the deputy; he had a hypodermic needle tucked behind his right ear. Baker then stepped away from the window and dropped the needle.

As the deputy entered the room, Peltier was trying to hide various items. The deputy found the needle in the bedroom; it contained a clear liquid. He also found a clear plastic bag containing what appeared to be methamphetamine, as well as another needle containing clear liquid.

Peltier agreed to talk with deputies and said she knew Baker had a loaded syringe, but she denied the other syringe was for her. She said she didn’t live at the apartment, although the lease is in her grandfather’s name.

While searching, the deputy found an eviction notice addressed to Peltier.

She was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony maintaining a drug house, possession of drug paraphernalia and ex-felon failure to register. Baker was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $23,650 for Peltier and $3,500 for Baker. Both had bonded out of the Carson City Jail as of Monday afternoon.
