A rain-soaked track didn’t stop the Churchill County Middle School track teams from a dominating performance on Wednesday at the Edward Arciniega Complex.

The Greenwave’s sixth-grade girls swept the seventh-grade divisions and the eighth-grade girls all picked up team wins at a Sagebrush league meet. The sixth-grade boys crown went to Fernley Intermediate School and Silverland Middle School (Fernley) slipped past Fallon, 115-114, for the victory.

Emily Marshall earned top three finishes in the 400-meter and triple jump plus helped lead the 4x200 relay team to a win.

Lexcie Montgomery was third in the discus and in the top five for shot put. Aspen Mori was in the top five in the 100, while Kera Balke was under 8 minutes in the 1,600.

Karlee Hitchcock, McKenna Hanks, Mori and Madison Guerrero won the 4x100 relay, while Marshall, Hanks, Mori and Savannah Robinson took first in the 4x200 relay.

The 4x400 relay team of Balke, Tiffany Larson, Kiara Verdugo and Marshall finished second.
