Every Thanksgiving for over 35 years, Christian Life Center has enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner with its congregation.

As they have done for several years, the church invites the community to join them again this year. The dinner will be held at the Fallon Convention Center, 100 Campus Way. We will serve on Nov. 23 from noon to 3 p.m.

We are happy to serve this meal to the community; we served over 850 people last year at the dinner, which included not only church members, but also invited guests, Naval Air Station Fallon personnel and community residents. We are expecting to serve over 950 this year.

Many congregation volunteers will help with greeting, serving, kitchen service, table and kitchen clean-up. The Youth Group from Christian Life Center and the high school’s Navy Junior ROTC will be helping with table set-up, busing and clean-up. Several men from the church volunteer each year to cook the turkeys.

The meal will be purchased, cooked and served by the congregation. The menu consists of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, as well as a variety of desserts.

To make sure there is room for all who attend, members of the community and NAS service members and their families are invited at noon and the church congregation will eat at 2 p.m.

We had a great time with the community last year. We are excited to serve again this year, and look forward to meeting new friends, as well as enjoying time with those we’ve known for a while.
