Feb. 20, 1928 - Nov. 1, 2014

Helen Louise Walker Rogers passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Fallon, NV. Our beloved mother died after a courageous battle with cancer. She resided in Gardnerville, NV for the past 25 years. She was born in Ely, NV on February 20, 1928, to bertha Pressey Bowser and Cliff Walker. She was a Native Nevadan and was enrolled with the Ely Shoshone Tribe. Helen lived her young life mainly in Ely, NV, but also lived in Hawthorne, Fallon, Carson City, and Yerington, NV. She married Lindsey Rogers, Sr. and spent her married years in Yerington, NV. They raised five children. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Rogers Gonzales (Mark,) Pamela Rogers Castillo (Ken), and her son, Lindsey Rogers, Jr. She also has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Rogers and her two sons, Rocky Rogers and Nicky Rogers. Helen was an avid outdoors woman who loved to ride horses, hunt, knit, do beadwork, and cook for all of us. Her greatest joy in life was when she was caring for her family. Our mom was a feisty, strong willed, and loving presence in our lives, and we miss her dearly. Per our mother’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service, but instead we will have a small celebration of her life.
