Q: What is your favorite sport to watch on TV and why?

A: My favorite is baseball. I like the great performances by exceptional athletes like Buster Posey.

Q: Do you feel professional athletes should be considered role models, and why?

A: Yes, because so many young children look up to them and want to emulate them on and off the field.

Q: What are your feelings about “dress guidelines” at the high school level?

A: I think the guidelines are appropriate as long as we don’t have uniforms.

Q: What is your favorite sports movie?

A: We Are Marshall

Q: What do you like or dislike about Carson City?

A: Not a lot of options for young people to do.

Q: What vacation spot have you enjoyed the most?

A: Cabo San Lucas. I enjoyed the snorkeling, fishing, skim boarding and playing in the ocean.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: My favorite food is Chinese and my mom’s homemade lasagna.

Q: What is the last non-academic book you read?

A: 60-feet 6-inches by Bob Gibson and Reggie Jackson.

Q: Is too much emphasis placed on test scores in education?

A: I believe too much emphasis is placed on testing; the focus should be on learning.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete, and why?

A: Michael Crabtree. He has to work his way to get open.
