Gov. Sandoval hires deputy chief of staff

Taxation Director Chris Nielsen is leaving that post to become deputy chief of staff to Gov. Brian Sandoval.

He will make the move Friday, replacing Jackie Bryant who is taking a job with the Washoe County District Court system. Bryant will become chief clerk and court administrator in Washoe County.

Sandoval said Nielsen will bring his skills to an expanded role in his administration, including service in dealing with the Legislature. He described Bryant as “a strong leader and an advocate for all Nevadans throughout her tenure in my administration.”
