HOLIDAY DINNERS

Thanksgiving dinner

Christian Life Center invites the community to join them again this year for a Thanksgiving dinner at the Fallon Convention Center on Nov. 23 from noon to 3 p.m.

The meal will be purchased, cooked and served by the congregation.

The menu consists of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, as well as a variety of desserts.

CLC had a great time with the community last year. Members are excited to serve again this year, and look forward to meeting new friends, as well as enjoying time with those we’ve known for a while.

For information, call Christian Life Center at 775-423-6900. Members of the community and Naval Air Station Fallon service members and their families are invited at noon, and the church congregation will eat afterward at 2 p.m.

Navy League holiday dinner

The Navy League of Fallon is having its annual holiday dinner on Dec. 3 at the Slanted Porch. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.

The League will also be participating in the Holiday Mail for Heroes program again this year. The Navy League will supply the Christmas cards, and organizers need help to fill them out during the party. This year’s focus will be on veterans who are spending their holidays in veterans’ homes and hospitals, and would be ever so grateful to receive words of encouragement.

Please make reservations by replying to fallonnavyleague@yahoo.com or by calling 775-224-4120

RSVP by Dec. 1. Cost is $25 per person.

TOY DONATIONS

Toys for Tots applications

Toys for Tots is now taking applications for 2014.

Applications may be obtained by going on line at www.toysfortots.com and following the link or calling 775-427-4054 and one will be sent.

Toys for Tots depends on the great volunteers who donate their time and the people who donate toys or money to buy toys. Without these people there would not be a holiday for the many children that Toys for Tots helps.

Toys for Tots is always looking for more volunteers in Fallon, Fernley and Silver Springs. If you are interested, call 775-427-4054 or e-mail at peko11@charter.net.

Toys will be distributed in mid-December.
