CCMS craft fair

The Churchill County Middle School at 650 S. Maine St. is having its annual Christmas Craft Fair on Dec.5 from 6-9 p.m. and on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Admission is $1.


Sagebrush Sisters

Please join the Sagebrush Sisters for their Fine Art and Craft Boutique oN Dec. 5 from 3-8 p.m. and Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Fallon, Nevada’s historic Old Post Office.

Methodist church bazaar

The United Methodist Women Christmas bazaar & treasures is Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The one-day event will be held at the United Methodist Church, 280 E. Stillwater Ave.


MEALS

Eagles breakfast with Santa

Fallon Eagles & Auxiliary Aerie 1447 Breakfast with Santa Claus is Dec. 6 from 8-10:30 a.m. at Eagles Hall 7977 Reno Highway.

Admission is $7 per adult and children under 10 $3. Also, bring one non-perishable food item per family. (Children must be accompanied an adult).

Breakfast includes a visit with Santa, a photograph taken by a professional photographer of each child with Santa Claus, and a free 4x6 photo.

The Eagles are donating all proceeds from this breakfast The Wishing Tree & Food Basket programs that provide gifts & food at Christmas for Churchill County youth in need.

Navy League holiday dinner

The Navy League of Fallon is having its annual holiday dinner on Dec. 3 at the Slanted Porch. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.

The League will also be participating in the Holiday Mail for Heroes program again this year. The Navy League will supply the Christmas cards, and organizers need help to fill them out during the party. This year’s focus will be on veterans who are spending their holidays in veterans’ homes and hospitals, and would be ever so grateful to receive words of encouragement.

HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

Homestead Christmas fun

Celebrate Christmas at the Homestead on Dec. 11 from 4-6 p.m. at 365 West A St.

Santa Claus will arrive to meet with children and photographs will be available. Rising Sun Gallery is is supplying art supplied and instructions for children and residents to make holiday cards for the clients for CareNet and for the sailors stationed at Naval Air Station Fallon.

Caroling is provided by Byron Sorensen.


XL Hospice activities

XL Hospice invites folks in the community to hang an ornament in memory of their deceased loved one(s) on the Memory Tree located at the XL Hospice Office (570 S. Maine St. any Monday-Friday, Dec. 1-23, 8 a.m.-noon, and 1-5 p.m.

All are invited to a Holiday Memorial on Dec. 16 from 6-7 p.m. (Gathering to remember deceased loved ones).


TOY DONATIONS

Toys for Tots applications

Toys for Tots is now taking applications for 2014.

Applications may be obtained by going on line at www.toysfortots.com and following the link or calling 775-427-4054 and one will be sent.

Toys for Tots depends on the great volunteers who donate their time and the people who donate toys or money to buy toys. Without these people there would not be a holiday for the many children that Toys for Tots helps.

Toys for Tots is always looking for more volunteers in Fallon, Fernley and Silver Springs. If you are interested, call 775-427-4054 or e-mail at peko11@charter.net.

Toys will be distributed in mid-December.


Annual toy run

Hosted by the IOMC Rollin’ 12, the fifth annual Fallon Toy Run is Dec. 6.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. at Tu Brothers Motorosports, 2040 Reno Highway, and the run begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at the American Legion, 90 S. Ada St.

Cost of entry is one new unwrapped toy per bike or vehicle.


Wishing Tree program

CC Communications Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association (CCCITPA) and Churchill County Social Services are joining forces to request your support and help for the 2014 Holiday Season.

The Wishing Tree program helps eligible and less fortunate residents of Churchill County with their gift giving.

The Wishing Tree program can only succeed with businesses and citizens of our community making donations. CCCITPA shops in Churchill County, all donations received, are utilized within our community.

Gifts for Giving

No Strings Attached Community Services will be giving away good used toys,books, children’s clothes and Christmas decorations that have been donated.

The Gifts for Giving is Dec.20 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the multipurpose building behind the Christian Life Center, 1435 Kaiser St.

The church is still taking donations through Dec. 19. Drop them off at CLC or call Carol at 775-427-2367 to arrange for pick up. Anyone who needs good, used items to give to their children will find that these items are free.
