May 30, 1923 - Oct. 1, 2014

Elizabeth Ann McCormick, a long time resident of Fallon, Nevada, died on October 1, 2014 at Renown Hospital in Reno at the age of 91. Betty was born on May 30, 1923 in the Boston, Massachusetts area. After settling in Fallon in 1971, where she resided with Claudia and Bill Adams, she became an integral member of the Roping community, and worked for Fallon Veterinary Clinic for 10 years. Because of her love and compassion for animals, she became a very sought after pet sitter, with “clients” including fish, turtles, horses and rabbits, in addition to cats and dogs galore! Betty’s passions ranged from spending a week every year at Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas; to an amazing appetite for the culinary delights, as well as spending quality time with her friends and family. Her zest for life has been unparalleled. Betty is survived by her son Steven McCormick of Elk Grove, CA; her sister in law Beulah Peterson, her nieces Linda Collins and Carolyn Andrew, all of the Massachusetts area; and all of her dearest friends. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, commencing at 2:00 pm, at the home of Sue and Reed, 5112 Rivers Edge Drive, Fallon. If you are interested in honoring Betty, a donation to CAPS or FAWG would be her wish.
