It was a damp and dreary day on Saturday, Sept. 27, but you would not have known it by the warmth and enthusiasm of the 1,000 registered participants at the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. It is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed. More than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and every 67 second someone in the United States develops the disease.

Team Carson was started by the Alzheimer’s Association support group that meets the second Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. Our members have worked hard raising money to help the Northern Nevada Chapter fund programs, support groups and research to stop this devastating disease.

We would like tot hank the following businesses that have supported our cause: Grocery Outlet; The Purple Avocado; Rick’s Floor Covering; State Farm Insurance, Brett Andreas; Benson’s Feed and Tack; Dunlap Family Practice; Nevada Johns.
