Jaclynn “Jackie” Lee Ray James, 34, passed away on October 14, 2014, in Carson City, Nevada. She was born on March 19, 1980 in Reno, Nevada to Phillip Lee James and Julie Ray-Wass. Jackie was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece and friend. She grew up in Gardnerville, Nevada, and graduated from Douglas High School. She worked for the State of Nevada before becoming a full time stay at home Mom. Jackie had a heart of gold and always put herself second to anyone. Her smile and laugh were contagious. On weeknights you would find her cooking a great dinner and enjoying the company of her family. Her children meant the world to her and life revolved around them. Jackie was preceded in death by her Step-father Steven Ray Wass and Grandfathers Howard Loomis and Delbert “Sock” James, Uncles David and Daniel Ray, Step-brother Randy Brinkley. Jackie is survived by Terrill Smothers; daughter Trinelle Ray Smothers and sons Jayvon Lamont Smothers and Jaxton Brian Smothers of Carson City, Nevada, Father Phillip James, Mother Julie Ray-Wass, Kevin Brinkley, Grandparents Glendora Loomis, Bernadine “Bonn” James, Chet and Janet Wass, Chuck and Donna Brinkley, step-sister Arianna, Jordyn Brinkley, aunts/uncles Kathy, Roger, Karen, Arlene, Terry, Jeff and Jodi., Clare, Karen, Sharon, Christopher and Gloria in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Arrangements are in the care of Walton’s Chapel of the Valley, 1281 North Roop St, Carson City. A viewing will be held at 9:00 am. with the funeral immediately following at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Woodfords Cemetery in Woodfords, California. A traditional dinner will be held at Dresslerville Colony Gymnasium, 1585 Watsheamu Dr. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations made to a trust for her children.
