Funeral services are scheduled for Monday for Assemblyman Pete Livermore.

They will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church on Lompa Lane beginning at 11 a.m.

Livermore died Monday after suffering a heart attack at his home. He was 73.

He spent more than 20 years in public service in Carson City as either an appointed or elected official including 12 years on the Board of Supervisors and two terms in the Nevada Assembly representing Carson City.

He was just two weeks from retiring from the Assembly post when he died.

In addition, he served on the Carson-Tahoe Hospital Board of Trustees, the Advisory Council to the State Lands Division and the Carson Water Subconservancy District.

Livermore came to Carson City in the 1960s after he was discharged from the Marine Corps and, for decades, operated the A&W Restaurant on south Carson Street just a few blocks from the Capitol.

He’s survived by his wife Laurie, children Richard, Sheri and Jackie along with several grandchildren.

Livermore’s death comes less than a week after fellow Assembly member Joe Hogan died of complications after suffering a stroke. Another member of that body, Peggy Pierce, died a year ago of cancer.
