Today deadline for campaign contribution and expense report

Today is the deadline for candidates and former candidates to file their fourth campaign contribution and expense report.

Those reports must be filed with the Secretary of State’s Elections Division even by candidates who have withdrawn or lost in the primary election. It also applies to candidates who haven’t raised any contributions or spent any money this period.

They must be filed electronically through the division’s Aurora website, which makes them immediately available to the public.

The requirement applies to all candidates at both the state and local levels. Report number 4 covers the period from Oct. 11 through Thursday.

The final report must be filed by Jan. 15 and covers the period form Oct. 31 through Dec. 31.
