Youth Theatre Carson City seeks actors, singers and dancers in grades K-12 to cast in its musical “Annie, Jr.” The show will run six performances, Jan. 9-11, in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

An audition workshop is scheduled for Thursday at Western Nevada Performing Arts Center, where students will rehearse and get feedback on their prepared audition songs.

The workshop will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for grades K-6 and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for grades 7-12.

Participants will get a sneak peek at callback materials including scenes, songs and dances normally not available until auditions, which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

The show follows little orphan Annie, who charms hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. The songs “Tomorrow,” “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” and “Easy Street,” will be included, along with the characters Annie, Oliver Warbucks, Miss Hannigan, Sandy and more.

Children are asked to prepare a one-minute song and be prepared to learn a dance at the audition.
