The Northern Nevada DUI Task Force presents their Victim Impact Panel twice a year in Fallon.

This is a court-ordered program for convicted DUI offenders. Several volunteers are needed to facilitate the program and the Task Force partnered with the Churchill High School National Honor Society (NHS) for the last two panels.

“Having local volunteers to help with our program has been invaluable,” said Laurel Stadler, rural coordinator for the program.

She also said Glen Perazzo, a teacher and NHS sponsor, has been very helpful in coordinating the student volunteers and ensuring their timely assistance at the event.

Stadler went on to say that guests from the community are always welcome to attend the program. The Task Force is also looking for victim speakers for the Victim Impact Panel. At the panel, injured victims of DUI crashes or surviving family members of deceased victims share, in a heart-felt way, how the crash has impacted their lives. The goal of the panel is to reduce recidivism among DUI offenders and have the offenders NOT commit the crime of DUI again.
