Leila (Lee Ila Black) Drown, 82, passed away quietly in her home in Carson City, NV surrounded by her loving family on Aug. 29, 2014, after a long illness. Leila was one of the first women to work as a computer programmer for the State of Nevada, having gone to great lengths to complete her computer training while raising her family. She loved to travel and was a talented watercolor artist and naturalist. She was born on Nov. 25, 1931, in Monticello, UT to Chauncey and Florine Black. She graduated from Lovelock High School in 1949, where she met and married Charles Drown. Leila is survived by her loving husband, Charles; sons, David (Frances), Steven, John, and Joseph Drown; daughters, Ann (Michael) Waldren and Jeannie Drown, 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Leila was a dedicated and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Her life was well-lived, and she will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Services will be 1pm Sat, Sep 13, 2014 at the LDS chapel, 411 N. Saliman, CC, NV.
