The Churchill County Middle School girls basketball teams kicked off their season last week with varying results.

The Lady Wave eighth-graders are off to a 3-0 start. Fallon beat Carson, 39-26, Eagle Valley, 25-23, last week and Yerington, 28-18, on Tuesday. No statistics were provided.

The Lady Wave seventh-grade team, meanwhile, lost 29-13 to Eagle Valley, 24-8 to Carson (both on last week) and 20-18 to Yerington. Rylee Ott led Fallon with six points against Eagle Valley followed by Karlee Hitchcock with four and Ramsi Dolan with three.

Against Carson, Aspen Mori, Ariana Magana, Kinsli Rogne and Hitchcock each had two points.

“We got a little nervous for these two games (against Eagle Valley and Carson) and our shots just weren’t falling,” coach Mandie Lister said. “Rylee did a great job at point guard, and Aspen and Kinsli did a great job getting back on defense.”
