County Commissioners meet Thursday

The first County Commission meeting of October will be conducted Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.

Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible action include the following:

Consideration and possible action regarding Community Development Block Grant annual project priorities and release of Churchill County applications, Shannon Ernst, social services director.

Consideration and possible action regarding amendment to the Panel of Substitute Justices of the Peace, Michael Richards, justice of the peace.

Consideration and possible action regarding Churchill County Library Repurpose project update, Carol E. Lloyd, library director.

Consideration and possible action regarding appointment to the Library Board, Carol E. Lloyd, library director.

Consideration and possible action regarding presentation and updates on Banner Churchill Community Hospital, Hoyt Skabelund, CEO, Banner Churchill Community Hospital.

Consideration and possible action regarding request from Demar Dahl to exchange one sewer connection provided for pursuant to the purchase of a utility easement by Churchill County for one water connection, Eleanor Lockwood, county manager.

Consideration and possible action request for support from the Cancer Warriors of Central Nevada, Laurel Topken.

Consideration and possible action regarding appeal filed by Vanessa Edwards and Richard Westbrook against the decision to terminate services under the Transitional Housing Program, Shannon Ernst, social services director.

Consideration and possible action regarding request from DeVere Karlson, chief Churchill County juvenile probation, to participate in Churchill County’s Retirement Incentive Plan and purchase three additional years in PERS.
