Care Flight will land Monday to launch its newest base (CF 4) at Banner Churchill Community Hospital.

“Care Flight is aligning ourselves today for a safer tomorrow ... for the hospital, the community and the surrounding areas…” said Temple Fletcher, program director for Care Flight.

Care Flight is Fallon’s first and only air medical helicopter flight program to be based at the Banner Churchill Community Hospital. This specialized critical care air ambulance will support and assist the area’s hospital, critical care paramedics, fire department and law enforcement with critically ill or injured patients in the rural areas.

Care Flight’s critical care ambulance helicopter service operating in the region since 1981 is now expanding its services to partner with Banner Churchill Community Hospital, and the newly renovated helipad located on the site with the hospital’s EMS ambulance facility.

“This is a time sensitive emergency medical service that improves the safety of our citizens and will save lives,” said hospital CEO Hoyt Skabelund, hospital CEO in his opening remarks.

The public is invited to attend the open house ceremony on April 15 at noon. The event will take place at the Banner Churchill Community Hospital’s helipad, located at 801 E. Williams Ave.

Attendees can meet Care Flight personnel, enjoy give-away items and register for prizes such as free “Flight Plan” memberships. Light refreshments will be served and weather permitting, there will be opportunities for photos with the aircraft.

“We’re here to assist our rural communities,” Fletcher added
