Special use permit requests for BioNeva Innovations Carson City for medical marijuana grow and production facilities will go to the city’s Planning Commission Wednesday afternoon.

The commission is expected to decide on the permits for the two units at 2919 N. Deer Run Road. Production and cultivation units, the latter also known as grow facilities, can co-locate and that is the case with this proposal for a new building planned to be 13,755 square feet in the general industrial zoning district. The property is owned by Desert Investment Group, LLC.

The applicant has already received provisional certificates for the grow and production units.

The commission won’t hear another special use permit request regarding marijuana cultivation. It was submitted originally by Medmen of NV2, LLC, for 5250 U.S. Highway 50 E, but the applicant withdrew it,

During the meeting that begins in the Community Center’s Sierra Room at 5 p.m., commission members will recess as the commission and reconstitute themselves as the city’s Growth Management Commission to hear two requests.

The requests involve a review of plans by Surf Thru, Inc., to allow for average daily water usage in excess of 7,500 gallons at two car wash units. They are on property zoned general commercial at 3555 S. Carson St., owned by Bolinsky Properties, LLC, and for another on property zoned general commercial at 1250/1300 E. William St., which is owned by Gladys Pederson Trust et. al. Each of the car wash units would use 8,139 gallons per day.
