Trump not a serious candidate for president

The first Republican presidential debate and aftermath confirmed that the narcissistic and boorish Donald Trump is not a serious candidate for president but rather is on an extended media-driven ego ride. His gullible followers need to know that far from being a bold “truth teller,” Trump is actually the opposite.

“Fact-checking” of Trump, it has been observed, is like picking up after a dog with diarrhea; there’s just not much point.

If Republicans want a conservative “outsider” businessperson as their nominee, then Carly Fiorina demonstrated a fluency and detailed command of issues in the debate.

If Republican want a strong generational contrast to Hillary Clinton, then Marco Rubio’s debate performance foretold a forward looking vision delivered by an articulate Hispanic candidate.

If Republicans want proven, experienced leadership and “electability” from pivotal states, then former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Ohio Governor John Kasich are solid choices.

Whomever the candidate, it should not be Trump — a pompous “know-nothing” windbag and political charlatan.
