The Adult Services staff at the Carson City Library extends a huge thank you to the individuals and organizations who donated prizes to the Adult Summer Reading program, “Escape the Ordinary.”

Appreciation goes out to the Carson City Visitors Bureau; Friends of Library Browsers Corner Book Store; Nevada Appeal; Nevada Museum of Art; Nevada Photo Source; Nevada State Museum; Nevada State Parks; Nevada State Railroad Museum; V&T Railroad.

During the eight-week program, 55 participants read 92,731 pages; 27 logged at least 1,000 pages, the minimum number required to be eligible for the grand prize drawing, a trip for two on the V&T Railroad.

A number of events and films were held, including an appearance by author Jack Harpster, a performance by Celtic finger-style guitarist Jerry Barlow and a multi-media presentation by photo journalist Rick Gunn.

The 2015 adult summer reading program was a community-wide success!
