Virginia City hosting Civil War Days and annual Labor Day Parade Sept. 5-7

Hundreds of Comstock Civil War reenactors will bring the days of the Civil War to life on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5-7, in Virginia City.

The mining town’s annual Great Civil War Days takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Miner’s Park.

Battles take place on the V&T Railroad throughout the weekend and at 12:30 p.m. Monday on C Street as part of the parade. The Delta Saloon is hosting a Victorian high tea at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The event culminates with the annual Labor Day Parade at noon Monday on C Street. Parade entries include veteran’s groups, classic car clubs, equestrian groups, a mariachi band, marching units and more. Parade entries are accepted until Friday, Sept. 4.
