A 61-year-old Carson City man is expected to admit to charges of trafficking and sales of a controlled substance, his attorney told a judge on Wednesday.

Dennis Walter Myers appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday with his attorney Maria Pence.

Myers is waiving a preliminary hearing in connection with his arrest for allegedly selling methamphetamine, heroin and oxycontin.

Myers’ Carson City neighbors said the drip system he was using to grow the plants overflowed and shorted out the electricity in the apartment below him.

The Douglas County warrant was issued a week after he was taken into custody in Carson City.

According to his attorney, the plea negotiation will see the dismissal of charges in connection with the Carson City arrest.

Myers is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court on Sept. 1.
