Taylor Weddell, a senior at Carson High School, is attempting to break a world record while raising funds for the Carson City Schools Foundation for his senior project.

Weddell is hoping to break the Guinness Book of World Records record for the largest human Christmas tree. The current record, set in Honduras, stands at 2,945 people; Weddell is hoping at least 3,000 people attend.

Weddell is assembling his human Christmas tree at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 on the football field at Carson High School. All ages are invited to help break the record. Participants must provide their name and address before the attempt can be made, so Weddell is asking anyone who participates to arrive at 10 a.m. There will be entertainment and hot chocolate and coffee for sale. Parking is limited.

Entry is free, but donations are being collected for the Carson City School Foundation, a nonprofit whose goal is to increase student achievement.
