Carol Elaine Colip, long time Fallon resident passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2015 with her family and friends by her bedside. Carol was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on May 7, 1949. Her family moved to Reno and Carol attended Reno schools graduating from Wooster High. She went on to UNR and later attended Michigan State where she got her Master’s Degree in Library Sciences. While attending UNR, she met the love of her life Fred Colip. After graduating from Michigan State she returned to Reno were her and Fred were married. They moved to Fallon in 1974, both teaching for Churchill County School District. Fred and Carol loved life, they ventured off to foreign countries, watching the whales at the ocean and the birds at the Stillwater Refuse. After the death of Fred, Carol continued her travels, meeting new friends where ever she went. Carol was a woman of many bright colors, always positive thoughts and words of praise for whoever was deserving. She stayed very active within the community and in her spare time she picked up a book to read. The children she taught always held a special place in her heart even after retirement.Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred; brother Bobby. She is survived by her sisters, Kitti Barth and Debbie Trihey; brother, Mark Frye; nieces,Brandi; Joya; Amber; Bethany; nephews, Davey and Gabriel; numerous eat-nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 2:00 Pm at The Gardens Chapel in Fallon. Donations may be made to the charity of choice in Carol’s memory.
