Ready for ‘Holiday With a Hero’

Carson High School culinary students prepare almost 300 lunches on Tuesday for today's "Holiday with a Hero" program. Sponsored by the Carson City School District, the Carson City Sheriff's Office and the Carson City Fire Department, the 11th annaul Holiday With a Hero is a program that ensures underprivileged children in Carson City have a proper Christmas. Donations are collected for 10 week and dispersed to designated and pre-qualified students as Walmart gift cards. Carson City fire, police, medical and military personnel guide the students through the store to use the gift certificates on gifts for them and their families.
