Thank you to the generous employees at Southwest Gas! Through Southwest Gas’ Fuel for Life program, employees have an option of making ongoing donations that can benefit up to five local nonprofits, one of which is Carson Animal Services Initiative, or CASI.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response to support our efforts to see that homeless and neglected pets have safe shelter while they wait to be adopted. Southwest Gas employees, you have certainly warmed our hearts!

And thank you to Jim Benson and the staff at Benson’s Feed for helping CASI host Santa Claus at last week’s Pictures with Santa. We had 84 people and more than 150 furry friends happily pose with Santa, all in the spirit of joyful giving! Benson’s Feed, you know how to put on a party!

A holiday shout out to Jeffrey at Artsy Fartsy and the folks who donated critter food and toys during the December Wine Walk, Linda Ritter who gives a portion of her proceeds from her beautiful pottery to CASI, Carson City Chamber of Commerce who invited CASI to participate in the Silver and Snowflakes Christmas Faire and the crafts people who donated their joyful cards, crafts and baked goods ... Kathleen Stemler, Loren and Judy Anderson, Ed Murray, Tammy Park, Nancy Tiffany, Nancy Nelson, Robin Ponte and Karen Finnegan.

Finally, a thank you to all of our CASI volunteers. Your time and energy makes a magical difference in our community and the lives of animals. None of this could be possible without you.

Merry Christmas!
