Pat Giomi passed peacefully to meet our Lord while surrounded by her family on November 19th, 2015 at her home at Topaz Lake Nevada. Pat passed ten days short of her 35th wedding anniversary with her husband John C. Giomi. Pat attled cancer for 5 years prior to her death. Pat is survived by her husband John, children Lori Hibbett (Jeff) of Topaz Lake, Lisa Smith (Jerry) of Caldwell, Idaho and Jerry Dobbins (Diana) of Kuna Idaho seven grandchildren, including Taylor Hibbett who helped care for her grandmother the previous 18 months, and six great grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her brother Gary Rainwater and his wife Barbara of Port Townsend, Washington, her sister Sandy Heim of Lancaster, CA, and her step brother and sister Kathy Kramer of Santa Rosa, CA and Bob Kramer of Arlington, Texas. Pat was born on February 16, 1940 in North Hollywood California to Gerald “Bus” and Margaret Rainwater. Pat grew up in the San Fernando Valley while it was still rural farming communities. Pat was a residential and commercial real estate broker in the San Fernando Valley and West Lake Village, CA until moving to Yerington NV in 1979. Pat met John while living in Yerington Nevada and married while John was the Lyon County District Attorney. They moved to Sacramento in 1983 in order for John to secure his Masters in Law in Taxation degree from Mc George School of Law. They settled in San Diego where John practiced law and Pat was a real property manager. After retirement they moved back to their home at Topaz Lake in 2008. Pat was involved in many charities including the San Diego Food Bank where she came up with the idea of having a baby food drive over the Mother’s Day weekend. Pat was also involved with John and Lori in the Senior Advocacy Group that managed the Special Advocates for Elders (SAFE) program for the Douglas County Courts. Pat was a friend to whomever she met, always put others first, was an advocate for abused women as well as the elderly. The Giomi Family would like to especially thank Dr. Robert Fliegler and Dr. Dena Tack of Carson City, Saint Mary’s home health care, Rhonda Uharte and the Carson Cancer infusion center, and Lori Salivdore and CVMC infusion center for the great care and extended life that they provided our dearest wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon on December 29th, 2015 at the Catholic Church in Smith Valley. A reception will be held afterwards at the family home at Topaz Lake.
