Capitol Grounds are beautiful

Just days after the tree lighting ceremony on the Capitol Grounds, we had our first “good” snowfall of the season. That evening my wife and I decided to drive downtown to see the lights: What a treat. Snow falling, ice skaters at the Arlington rink with main street ablaze in light and color. Then the Capitol Grounds appeared, what a sight to see! Traffic was very light, so we passed several times in front of the Capitol building to take it all in.

Carson City truly knows how to bring the Christmas and holiday season home. Many, many thanks to one and all who spent countless days and hours setting up the Christmas lights for all to enjoy.

If you have not as yet taken in the lights of downtown, I encourage one and all to do so.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays,

Byron and Valorie Morgan

Carson City

Jesus is all I want for Christmas

The most precious gift I have ever received

Was not beautifully wrapped with a fancy bow

It was when God sent his only begotten son

To save me from my sins so long ago.

For, it was so very long ago in a stable so forlorn,

That shepherds came to witness when a tiny babe was born

As the star shown bright on that Christmas night

New hope to all was given

So everyone upon the earth

Might have their sins forgiven.

Some are blind and refuse to believe,

But we will never be the same

For all who come to love him

And call upon his name.

The son of God, born of Mary

On that first Christmas Day,

Let us praise our savior

As we bow our heads and pray.

Thank your heavenly father for his countless blessings

And his endless abundance of love

Gifts of mercy, grace and forgiveness

Given by our heavenly father above.
