Last night at about 9 o’clock as a man named Chibault, a Canadian Frenchman who is connected with the V&T Railroad Company was going from his work to his lodging house and while passing through the dark parts which like between the rear of Gillson & Barber Grocery Store and the Freight Depot was suddenly assaulted, chocked and held by a brace of foot-pads, and robbed of $57. This is the first instance of this kind in Carson. It had better be the last.

Lt. and Mrs. E.D. Carville and small daughter, Nancy Jo, are visiting at the executive mansion for several days en route from Miami Fla., to San Francisco, Calif. Lt. Carville, son of Governor and Mrs. E.P. Carville, is a member of the judge advocate’s department of the U.S. Navy.
