Prep roundup: Carson’s McRae, Giron place in top 16 at divisional ski races

Connor McRae and Noah Giron placed in the top 16 at Tuesday’s divisional ski races at Alpine Meadows.

McRae was 10th and Giron 15th.

Adam Daniels was 18th, Matt Gunkel 23rd, Shane Morton 24th and Brennan Peterman 32nd.

On the girls side, Bailee Barber was a seventh place quarterfinalist and Emma Breeding was 12th. Alex Urban was 23rd in the round of 16.

The state meet is Feb. 24-25.

YERINGTON — The Lions outscored ROP in three of the four quarters en route to a 54-31 win.

Chris Brown had 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Bryan Ramirez added 12 points. Koby Foster chipped in eight points.

Muckers pummel

Coleville, 57-22

COLEVILLE — Christian Lindsay scored 20 points and Clint Hess added 19 to lead Virginia City to a 57-22 Division IV win on Wednesday night.

The Muckers, who are unbeaten in league, play at Whittell tonight in the regular-season finale for both teams.
