Beekeeping conference Feb. 27-28 in Yerington

Nevada Fresh Pak, a local organic farm, is sponsoring the Mason Valley Beekeeper’s fifth annual beekeeping conference Feb. 27-28 in Yerington.

Beekeeper Randy Oliver is scheduled to attend the conference and talk about the evolving beekeeping and agricultural industries.

Other experts in the field of beekeeping will present throughout the conference, and a banquet will be held in honor of Oliver’s appearance.

Registration is $60 for both conference days including the banquet, $50 for both conference days, $25 for the banquet, and $35 for the conference and banquet with a student identification.

Mason Valley Beekeepers seeks to enhance Northern Nevada’s reputation as a “bee-friendly” area to encourage the apiculture industry and advocate for increasing numbers of bee colonies in the area.
