Douglas County man sought for allegedly abusing infant

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a man after his two-month old infant was hospitalized with traumatic injuries early Wednesday morning.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 2:48 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to Carson Valley Medical Center for a report of an unresponsive infant who was brought in by the father, Trent Getty, 23.

During an investigation information was obtained the infant had suffered injuries which appear to be the result of abuse. The Sheriff’s Office alleges the injuries are inconsistent with the statement given by Getty regarding the circumstances of the injuries.

An arrest warrant has been issued and his bail has been set at $1 million.

The DCSO is seeking the public’s help in finding Getty who’s believed to in Reno. He’s described as a white male, approximately 6-feet 1-inch tall, weighing about 170 pounds. He has short-cropped red hair, green eyes, and has numerous facial tattoos.
