A Gardnerville Ranchos man accused of murder in the death of his infant daughter has been returned to Douglas County.
Trent Getty, 23, waived extradition in Superior Court in Sacramento and is scheduled to appear in East Fork Justice Court on Friday morning.
He is being held in Douglas County Jail without bail.
Getty faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of 2-month-old Ava Getty, who was unresponsive when he brought her to Carson Valley Medical Center early on Jan. 7.
Getty and members of Ava’s mother’s family were caring for the infant.
He told investigators that Ava had fallen out of her swing after he took her to Carson Valley Medical Center.
An autopsy revealed she had massive brain trauma which doctors told investigators was consistent with shaken baby syndrome, according to court documents.
