July 29, 1934 - Jan. 14, 2015

The hands of God came for our beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend on January 14, 2015. Gwendolyn (Gwen) is resting peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father. She was born in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada to Joseph & Mary Murphy. At 18 years of age, Hal Richardson stole her heart on the Pepperrell Air Force Base in her hometown. They married June 23, 1954 and moved to Santa Clara, California. They spent many of their summers camping at Lake Berryessa. In 1981, they moved to Carson City, NV. Gwen gave thirty years as a volunteer for the Civil Air Patrol and whatever endeavor Hal persuaded her into. Gwen was an amazing woman. Her love and generosity impacted every person she came in contact with. She is survived by her husband, family of four children, her 3 sisters, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren so far. She was a second mother to a multitude of others as well. Her greatest love was for her family. She will be sorely missed by everyone whose life she touched. Her life was most fulfilled making others around her happy. A private viewing was held on January 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we welcome your presence and/or a contribution to http://www.gofundme.com/kb24y0 to fund a celebration of her life to be held on February 21, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Sterling Air Hangar at the south side of Carson City airport. We will celebrate together now that Gwen has taken her final seat on the train home to Heaven. Please use Walton’s guest book to RSVP for Gwen’s celebration of life.
