Reno Aces outfielder Peter O’Brien will participate in the 2015 Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby presented by Omaha Public Power District, Triple-A Baseball announced today. The event will take place on Monday at Werner Park in Omaha, Nebraska at 5:35 p.m. PST.

O’Brien, 24, is tied for fourth in the Pacific Coast League with 15 home runs. The Florida native hit 34 home runs in 2014 and has 81 in his minor league career in 356 games. O’Brien joins Matt Davidson (2013) and Mike Jacobs (2014) as Aces participants in the Triple-A Home Run Derby. Davidson won the event at Aces Ballpark in 2013 and will attempt to become only the second player to win the Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby twice.

O’Brien is one of three players representing the PCL to go along with three from the International League. He joins El Paso’s Cody Decker and Tacoma’s Jesus Montero from the PCL. The IL representatives are Charlotte’s Davidson, Columbus’ Jesus Aguilar and Norfolk’s Dariel Alvarez. Two local high school players will also participate in the event for a chance to win the Home Run Derby belt.
