LAS VEGAS — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval says a new committee tasked with looking at ways to boost tourism in Las Vegas will have a year to report back on what needs to be built — including convention space, stadiums and transportation — and how it might be funded.

The governor issued an executive order establishing the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee on Monday and announced the 11 members of the group that will first meet no later than July 15.

The group led by Sandoval’s Office of Economic Development director includes the Las Vegas mayor, Clark County chairman, representatives from six casino-hotel companies, the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce and president of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Many already sit on tourism-related boards including the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
