ROAD CLOSURE

The Churchill County Road Department will begin a culvert replacement project within Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The project site is at the intersection of East County and Hunter roads. This is the first intersection after entering the refuge at the end of State Route 116. The project is scheduled to last one work day.

Once the project begins, the road will be closed to all traffic.

Plan travel schedules accordingly.

Road closure signs and barricades will be in place either side of the work site: to the west on SR 116 and to the east on East County Road near the Stillwater Point overlook turnoff. Turnaround space is available at both locations.

Visitors may still access the refuge via West County or Indian Lakes roads from the west, or through Division Road or Foxtail Tour Route off East County Road.

For questions, contact the refuge administrative office at 775-423-5128.
