Silver City hosting children’s science activity with Jim Barcellos Wednesday

Jim Barcellos of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is returning to Silver City to offer a free hands-on science activity for ages 8-12 from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Silver City Community Center and School House, 385 High St.

The science activities are part of a free summer-long program that has also included lessons with artist Karen Kreyeski, a literacy fair with United Way, a bike safety rodeo with Western Safe Routes to Schools, engineering lessons with Society of Women Engineers, and upcoming workshops on poetry, art, and sound with visiting artist Brian Schorn.
