Bobby Mack Cooper, 78, died June 30, 2015 in Pampa, Texas. Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2015, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Yates, Interim Hospice chaplain, officiating. Military honors are courtesy of the U. S. Navy. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Bobby Mack Cooper was born October 5, 1936 in Pampa where he attended Pampa schools. After high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War and receiving the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Vietnam Service Medal. He served with the Navy for twenty years before his retirement. He married Barbara Matlock on December 9, 1954. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2012 after 58 years of marriage. After his retirement from the Navy, they lived in Fallon, Nevada where he worked at Hiskett and Son’s Cement Company, returning to Pampa in 2005. In his spare time, he loved to work with wood, specializing in making handmade archery bows. Most of all, Bobby enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, J. L. and Mildred Miller Cooper. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Amaral and husband Thomas and Kathy Mills and husband Randy, all of Fallon, Nevada; a son, Scott Cooper and wife Sandra of Wellington; a sister, Sandra Lake and husband Ray of Fort Worth; a sister-in-law, Margaret Hulsey of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
